Minimum qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience • Experience in marketing, advertising, sales, consulting, or related field • Experience of problem solving and analysis in a sales environment Preferred qualifications: • Experience in online industry platforms and advertising trends • Understanding of users, culture, and market dynamics across SSA • Ability to manage stakeholders of all types, including senior management, external agency partners, and peers • Ability to work effectively across different functions and geographies • Excellent written and interpersonal skills About The JobWhether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.The Small and Medium Business (SMB) Marketing team focuses on making the web work for small businesses. SMBs are the backbone of the African economy and contribute significantly to it's growth. The Sub-Saharan African (SSA) SMB Marketing team is committed to helping SMBs grow online through our products e.g. Google My Business/Google Ads and we do this through understanding local needs and designing campaigns and marketing programs to help address these needs.Know the user. And we approach marketing in a way that only Google can--changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself.Responsibilities • Increase our engagement and measure the efficacy of programs through partnerships, messaging, collateral, events, and business strategies aimed at acquiring advertisers • Manage and organize SMB trainings in partnership with sales • Conduct business analytics to support marketing strategies • Use quantitative methods, models, and research to help Google better understand consumer and advertiser behavior to provide important feedback, back into the product and strategic development cycle • Monitor and measure the performance of different channels and activity to continuously improve the return on investment of marketing programs Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
