This week, AfriLabs asked Afrinection to be their Ecosystem Partner at their Annual Gathering 2018, which is taking in Tanzania from 11th to 13th October at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Dar es Salaam. The event is co-organized with Sahara Sparks and supported by some of Africa's largest brands and companies. Hundreds and hundreds of attendees are expected, including entrepreneurs, corporate organizations, investors, government and developmental agencies. AfriLabs' request was one we simply couldn't refuse. It is a great honour to be associated with an organisation that has done so much for start-ups and tech hubs across the African comtinent.
More about the AfriLabs Annual Gathering 2018. The event, which is taking place every year, provides a unique opportunity for tech hubs in the AfriLabs network and other stakeholders in the African tech ecosystem like local innovators (entrepreneurs), corporates, investors, academia and developmental agencies to convene, network and share knowledge.
Previously, the AfriLabs Annual Gathering, which is being co-organized with Sahara Sparks as ‘Innovation in the Data Age 2018’, has been held in different regions across Africa; from Ghana in 2016 to Egypt in 2017 and now Tanzania in 2018. In attendance will be over 80 technology and innovation hubs and over 600 key stakeholders that include entrepreneurs, corporate organizations, government and developmental agencies.
The AfriLabs Annual Gathering and Sahara Sparks will be coming together as a joint event to create opportunities for the members of the AfriLabs network and its stakeholders to meet and engage with the Tanzanian tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem to exchange knowledge, network, build collaborative relationships and share resources about the opportunities that the data revolution and innovation in Africa presents for social and economic development.
The 3-day gathering will feature panel discussions, an investor pitch, multiple parallel workshops and a local ecosystem tour. The topics will be centred around data-driven innovation, the digital economy, Internet of Things (IoT), innovation ecosystems and trending technologies.
